This is the sinking plastisol, which means it will sink in fresh and salt water. The density of this plastisol is higher than water. If you are after the floating plastisol, check out our eparency lure plastisol floating.
Consistency: honey like
Quite Guide: Pour into the mould; heat to 180 degree C till it turns solid; Cool down; take it out of mould; ready to get in water. You can also use microwave oven to heat up the plastisol. However, you must conduct small sample test to figure out how long to heat the plastisol without scorch it.
If you are using microwave to heat the plastisol, its important to take the glass jar out of the microwave in the middle of the heating process and manually mix the mixure, then heat it again. The reason is simple, the outlayer would heat more than the inner layer, and once outlayer melts, the inside is still in paste form. and the melt will convert more microwave energy into heat, so the hot becomes hotter. the melting temperature of plastisol is 160-180 degree. however, the degradation temperature is 200 degree. so there is only a small temperature window for you to play with. You must not allow the plastisol to overheat, otherwise, the plastisol will burn. So follow these steps, heat the plastisol to 160-180 degree, and take it out of the microwave, manually mix the plastisol. it might quickly turn into solid even powdery substance. donot worry, put it back into the microwave, heat it again. you can repeat the process many times. just remember that donot allow the plastisol to overheat in the microwave. Another important tip is to put a lid on the glass jar, so the vapor wont get into your microwave oven. Donot use plastic containers, they have lower or similar melting point than Eparency plastisol, which means they will melt before the plastisol.
As for colorant, you can use Eparency mica powder; Eparency pigments or Eparency alcohol ink. they all work with Eparency plastisol. Even though mica powder is called metallic powder, and gives metallic color effect, it doesnot contain metal. its safe to put in the microwave.
